Researcher: Pam Buttrey
Researcher & Genealogist Pam Buttrey was born and brought up in Hertfordshire.
Educated there and in Exeter she was a head occupational therapist in South London and is now
completing an M.A. in English Local History at Leicester University.
Growing up with a wealth of stories passed down through her family, she has researched her own
and others’ ancestors.
She has experience over many years in tracing and interpreting original documents including chancery and other records.
This has enabled Pam to gather a wealth of valuable detail, throwing light on the social, economic and national history as it affected the lives of the people and the families she has researched.
She has had many articles published in family history society journals and has researched and written up the histories of several families, including her own branch of the Aubreys.
Pam has been commissioned to write the history of an estate in Hampshire, inherited by the Aubreys of Clehonger, tracing its detailed ownership from 900 A.D to the present day, due to be published in late 2007. She is also researching the Harcourts of Pendley in Hertfordshire and the history of Cane Hill Hospital in Surrey.
From early 2008, Pam will be again able to undertake family and house history research in London, South-East England and Merionethshire in North Wales.
