Researcher: Pam Buttrey
Researcher & genealogist Pam Buttrey grew up in Hertfordshire. Educated there and in Exeter, Pam was a head occupational therapist in South London.
In 2008, she completed an M.A. in English Local History at Leicester University.
For many years, Pam has traced and interpreted original documents, including chancery and other records. This enables her to gather a wealth of valuable detail, throwing light on the social, economic and national history as it affects the lives of the people and places she researches.
Pam has investigated and written up the histories of several families, including her own branch of the Aubreys, and has many references to the name in Wales and Herefordshire.
Pam was commissioned to research the complex history of an estate in Hampshire, inherited by the Aubreys of Clehonger, to be published in 2009 as Lyss Place: Peace and Turmoil for the Gentry in Liss from 900AD.
She is currently writing a book on the history of Cane Hill Hospital in Surrey, having been one of its closure team.
Pam is available to undertake research, including family and house histories, big or small, in London, South-East England and Merionethshire in Wales.
